A variety of materials are used to manufacture and install carports and patio covers. The most durable metal used in the construction industry has proven to be aluminum, due to the fact that it is lighter, longer lasting, and easier to maintain compared to other metals. Aluminum is guaranteed not to rust, even at ¼ inch slope per I foot of projection. The fiberglass is a translucent 6 ounce commercial grade panel that blocks 97% of UVA/UVB rays and carries a 20-year no crack warranty from the manufacturer.
We construct our carports/patio covers using aircraft grade tempered extruded aluminum for the framework. The steel beams are galvanized then zinc coated and the posts are galvanized/zinc coated then powder coat painted to maximize their strength and durability.
